Have lower back pain, but don't want to take painkillers? Perhaps massage is a good option.

"My back......It feels like someone is twisting a knife in my back"

Do you have friends or family around you who suffer from back pain? When the symptoms of back pain worsen, people often realize the severity of this invisible ailment because discomfort accumulates gradually. Although it is considered a medical condition, most initial causes of back pain are related to problems with the muscles in the back, such as tightness or spasms, leading to the manifestation of pain.

Common treatments for back pain include painkillers, pain patches, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, physical therapy, and KT tape. Based on my clinical practice over the years, adjusting posture and incorporating stretching and massage can usually alleviate the pain, restore elasticity to the back muscles, and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

Indeed, massage plays a significant and effective role in this issue, mainly by applying external pressure (using hands) to the tense muscles, gradually promoting muscle relaxation. Whether in the acute or chronic stage of back pain, massage can help reduce pain and improve the quality of life.

Of course, the specific details of how to apply the massage, which muscles to target, how deep to apply pressure, and how to do home care should be left to a professional and experienced massage therapist!
